Synopsis
When his parents trade London for a guesthouse in the Romanian mountains, twelve-year-old Matei loses everything at once: his friends, his language and, in a way, his family. His father vanishes into running a vast construction project and his mother into her booming tradwife YouTube channel.
Adrift, Matei finds an unlikely mentor in a solitary maker of ritual masks, who draws him into the village's masked winter dances. Behind his mask, he finds a more confident self but also visions of a presence in the forest that set him on a collision course with the very project that brought his family here.
